….. a classy first effort nebbiolo that would put some Italian wines to shame.  It has upfront tar and cherries with a new world twist, yet is very varietal.

 

Awarded: Silver (17.5)

This wine shows all the varietal characteristics of nebbiolo – cherry fruits along with some tar and spice notes, with a fennel-like lift. The palate offers black cherries, a mix of spices, and the tannin is there along with the acidity but it is balanced and is a long, great effort.
