Fermoy Estate is a premium winery in the heart of Western Australia’s world-renowned Margaret River wine region, regarded by experts as one of the greatest viticultural areas of the New World.
Since its establishment 25 years ago, Fermoy Estate has won numerous awards and built an enviable reputation for producing top quality wines that are sold and appreciated across Australia and around the world. In 2011 Fermoy Estate embarked on a fresh chapter under new ownership, with a commitment to build on the past and further realise the potential of this extraordinary property.
The first vines were planted at Fermoy Estate in 1985. The region’s wine industry was still in its infancy back then. A few visionaries and pioneers had seen the potential, and were laying the foundations for what was to come.
Initially 10 hectares were planted. Over time, this has been expanded to meet increasing demand and the estate now has 17 hectares under vine. The main varieties grown are Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon with smaller parcels of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Chenin Blanc and Malbec.
Our first vintage was produced in 1988, and the awards and accolades started flowing shortly after.
The estate takes its name from the town of Fermoy in County Cork, Ireland, the ancestral home of the original owners.
