2025 Adelaide Royal Wine Show: A Strong Tradition of Success
Our 2022 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon has been awarded a Gold Medal at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show, one of Australia’s most prestigious capital city wine competitions. The event features over 2,500 wines from more than 300 wineries across the country.
This marks the sixth major accolade for this wine, following its Platinum Medal at the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards and Gold Medals at the IWSC 2024, Perth Royal 2024, Royal Queensland 2024 and WA Boutique 2024. The 2022 vintage continues a strong tradition of success for our Reserve Cabernet at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show, with the 2018 and 2019 vintages also earning Gold Medals in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
Judges comments:
97 points Platinum, 2025 DWWA: "Quintessential and stylish, exuding pure cassis, blackberry and briary fruit which garnishes the elegant framework of structure and tannin and seeps into the mouth-wateringly juicy acidity. A fine mineral undertone ordains the long, visionary finish."
95 points, The Real Review, Stuart Knox: "...A full bodied red that epitomises power with control. There’s ample ripe black fruits that have been layered with cigar box, anise and mocha complexities but even in its youth these are all melded seamlessly together. Tannins are well polished, firm but finely grained so they control without gripping and ensure the suppleness of that fruit isn’t lost along the way to the very long finish. Drink 2024-2039."
95 points Gold Medal, 2024 Perth Royal Wine Awards: "Excellent colour and brightness of fruit. Very clean and elegant with length and delicacy of tannin. Red berry fruits, baking spice, subtle violets. Lovely fruit intensity, layered tannin. Fresh balanced acid."
The continued recognition is a testament to the work ethic of our small team, dedicated to crafting exceptional wine in Wilyabrup.
