Vintage: 2017 - A cooler vintage in Margaret River, characterised by a slower ripening period with good retention of fruit aromatics and natural grape acidity.
Appearance: Dark garnet red.
Aroma: Complexing aromas of blueberry & blackberry, freshly ground coffee, rosemary and brown spice.
Palate: Blue and black fruit sweetness coats a complex of spice – chocolate, herbs, star anise, Campari, charcuterie. A hint of whole bunch stalk and light oak char provides tannin, structure & palate weight.
Oak Detail: 15 months maturation in a combination of new (~25%) and seasoned French oak barriques.
Cellaring: Tannins are sufficiently soft and pliable to drink now, but will continue to evolve over the next 6-8 years.
Food Pairing: Pan-seared venison fillet with pink peppercorn & redcurrant reduction and potato dauphinois.Alcohol Volume: 13.8%
