Fermoy Estate
2019 Fe Shiraz
Varietals (%’S): 100% Shiraz.
Region: Geographe, WA
Vintage: 2019 – a cooler vintage in SW WA, characterised by a slower ripening period with good retention of fruit aromatics and natural grape acidity.
Appearance: Bright, cherry red with ink black tints.
Aroma: Aromatic nose of vibrant red and blue fruits, with hints of cocoa and spice – star anise, peppercorn, cherry pit and vanilla bean.
Palate: Palate is medium-bodied, with juicy plum, blueberry and cherry fruit characters to the fore. Complexing notes of dark chocolate, nori, spice & charcuterie add depth and intrigue. A sinew of tannin provides frame and structure while a soft acid line gives length, poise and freshness to the finish.
Oak Detail: 18 months maturation in a combination of new (~10%) and seasoned French oak barriques.
Cellaring: Whilst designed to be ready for immediate consumption, this wine will benefit from anywhere up to 4-6 years in the bottle.
