2023 Blackwater - Cabernet Shiraz Malbec

Our take on the classic Australian blend.

NAMESAKE The town of Fermoy, located in County Cork, Ireland, from which our name is derived, sits on the banks of the river Blackwater.

VINTAGE 2023 – a milder vintage, allowing for gradual ripening of red varieties. Wines show a wonderful freshness and vibrancy.

VARIETIES 54% Cabernet Sauvignon 24% Shiraz 11% Malbec 11% Petit Verdot

APPEARANCE Vibrant rich red with black tints.

AROMA Intriguing aromas of black plum, mulberry, sour cherry and mint. Complexing notes of cedar and five spice.

PALATE Structural yet juicy, this wine is bright and refreshing. Plum, cherry, bramble fruits lead into the structure and complexity of oak, exotic spice and ferrous tannins.

OAK DETAIL Components were matured in French oak barriques for 15-months prior to blending. The final blend saw 15% new oak, with the balance in seasoned barrels. The blend spent a month in tank to integrate and harmonise prior to bottling.

CELLARING Can be drunk now or cellared for 6-8 years.
