2017 Cabernet Merlot
Varietals (%’S): 60% Cabernet Sauvignon; 37% Merlot; 3% Shiraz
Appearance: Dark crimson red with black tints.
Aroma: The nose shows an array of red and black fruits – redcurrant, raspberry and blackberry with notes of liquorice, dark chocolate and savoury herbs.
Palate: The medium weighted palate unfolds in layers of fruit, savoury herbs, chocolate and oak spice. A soft and juicy mid-palate is supported by a framework of powder fine tannins which add structure and length.
Oak Detail: 18 months maturation in a combination of 20% new and 80% seasoned French oak barriques from a selection of renowned Bordeaux cooperages.
Cellaring: This finely structured wine is drinking well now, but will continue to evolve over the next 6-8 years.
