"A neatly balanced light boded blend of these two varieties that sit so harmoniously together. The notes of lime and subtle red apple with light passionfruit emerge on the nose. The palate picks them up and adds a nice crunchy acidity to sustain a long finish. This is such good current drinking."

"Fermoy Estate has been around for four decades and has gone quietly about its job delivering archetypal styles of Margaret River wine. This semillon sauvignon blanc is no exception, bringing all the youthful exuberance and vivacity of the style, without being too green or mono-dimensional. Punchy aromas of cut grass, passionfruit, citrus leaf, lantana and lemongrass. Textured, pithy, crunchy and zesty in flavour, with a core of zippy citrus and snappy acidity. Nose Fresh fruit aromatics of guava, pear, lemon oil and lime leaf overlay subtle savoury notes of fresh garden herbs.

Palate A textured and balanced style showing subtle lifts of citrus blossom, grapefruit and lime zest, combined with body and mouthfeel garnered from partial fermentation and maturation on lees. Savoury notes of coastal herbs and fresh rocket add complexity while a punchy, saline acid line ensured a crisp, dry and refreshing finish.

Winemaker Comments

The Sauvignon Blanc portion of the blend was fermented and matured in a combination of new and seasoned French oak, while the Semillon was fermented cool in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness and aromatics.

Vintage Description

2024 - A warm and dry vintage highlighted by a very early start, excellent marri blossom and some challenging heat spikes. Whites and roses were picked earlier than ever and showed excellent fruit vibrancy.
